How a full central heating installation works
Survey and system design
An engineer visits your home to assess the layout, heat loss, hot water demand, and existing infrastructure. They produce a design covering boiler output, radiator sizes, pipework routes, and cylinder specification.
Pipework and radiators
The installation team runs flow and return pipework through the property, fits radiators in each room, and connects the system pipework to the cylinder and boiler position.
Boiler installation
The boiler is fitted, flued, and connected to the gas supply by an RGII-registered engineer. The hot water cylinder and any pressurisation equipment are also installed at this stage.
Commissioning and handover
The system is filled, pressure-tested, balanced, and commissioned. The engineer walks you through the controls, thermostat, and programmer before signing off the RGII completion certificate.
